Nicconi Poni showed them a clean pair of heels this evening at Cranbourne taking out the second event in convincing fashion, the maiden plate over 1000m.
The daughter of Nicconi thoroughly enjoyed dropping back to the 1000m and under the guidance of top heavy weight jockey Jamie Mott, Nicconi Poni was able to race with cover, come off heels at the top of the straight and score in easy fashion.
Trainer Mitch Beer has always had a high opinion of the filly and was pleased that Nicconi Poni was able to break her maiden status and feels there is many more wins in store for her.
In other stable news, MBR had it’s first winner on the picnic circuit on Easter Saturday with Vanderlune winning the last race at Balnarring.
A big congrats to jockey Leigh Noble who piloted the mare as he does quite a bit of track riding for the stable.
