Mnementh has provided Mitch with his first stakes winner since going out on his own and what better horse to have it with than one of the original few that kicked him off in Albury.

Ridden by Blake Shinn, who is in an incredibly rich vein of form, he couldn't have timed the run better or kept the horse more collected all the way down the famous Flemington straight.

Pre-race Blake said that for a sprint there wasn't set to be a lot of pace and that he would let him settle where comfortable and when no one challenged for the lead Mnementh just stayed where he jumped, in front!

Owned by a lot of the Albury Racing Club Committee members and long time owners and supporters of the stable, it's been amazing to tick off a Wagga Town Plate and a Listed race at Flemington for them.  Thanks to all his owners for coming along for the ride and it was great to see so many of them at the track on Saturday.

Not without his ups and downs, he suffered a bleeding attack some 18 months ago which forced Mitch to totally rethink his training regime.  He completely turned his routine on its head and the horse has repaid the team in spades since.

It would be remiss of us to not acknowledge his breeders David and Kayley Johnson of Rushton Park.  Without their trust and goodwill we would never have had the horse in our stable to begin with.  We congratulate them on breeding and raising such a tough and tenacious racehorse.

And as always, a huge thanks to the whole team at home in Albury, without such a great bunch this horse would never have gotten to where he is today.
